The museum is saddened to learn of the passing of Norman Hameister, a long time museum restoration volunteer and tour guide. He served our country as a Seabee in WWII and was an accomplished private pilot as well as an active member of the local veterans Honor Flight. You will be missed. God speed and wings level.

OnThisDay 1953 first flight of the Bell Model 61 (HSL-1) anti-submarine helicopter for the US Navy. 53 helicopters were built. Floyd Carlson was the test pilot.
